What is the significance of the veterinary caduceus?

The veterinary professions caduceus is a symbol from Greek mythology which has a special significance for The Clean Vet. The symbol depicts the letter ‘V” on a staff with a snake twisting around the staff. The staff of the Greek god Aesculapius is associated with healing and medicine. The snake is considered a symbol of healing. The shedding of it skin represents a shift from illness to health and may be likened to a shift in behaviours to improve health.
