World Immunisation Week 24-30 April 2023

Q fever is caused by the bacteria Coxiella burnetii. This zoonotic disease can infect mammals, birds, reptiles and arthropods. You can protect yourself with a vaccination. You will need serology and a skin test first to exclude exposure or previous vaccination. A vaccination lasts for life! Go to the Australian Immunisation Handbook https://immunisationhandbook.health.gov.au/contents/vaccine-preventable-diseases/q-fever for further details.
